VINYL WRAP AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Vinyl Wraps aren’t meant to be installed and forgotten. Like the rest of your vehicle, your vehicle wrap requires regular cleaning and maintenance. For longer-lasting, vibrant color, wash your wrap on a regular basis and keep your vehicle away from possible pollutants.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WASH MY VEHICLE WRAP?

Wash your wrap at least twice per month or more often if your vehicle is exposed to a lot of dirt or pollutants. You should hand wash it using a PH neutral car shampoo, any good brand will work, but I personally use Carpro Reset. Avoid 2 in 1 soaps with waxes as wax will ruin your wrap. Always use a nice automotive microfiber wash mit on your wrap. Rinse vehicle with clean water after washing. Minimize water spotting by using a miocrofiber drying towel to remove water along with a drying aid like a ceramic detail spray, I use a product called Obsessed garage drying aid, its a ceramic detail spray that provides lubrication during the drying process. I spray it onto the wet car prior to drying to allow for lubrication avoiding swirls and providing protection all in one step. I have provided a free bottle and premium Rag Company microfiber towels to use for this. CAN I TAKE MY WRAPPED VEHICLE INTO A DRIVE-THROUGH CAR WASH?

You can bring your wrapped vehicle to an automated brushless car wash, although hand washing is safer and more thorough. Brush car washes are not advised since they are too rough on the film, degrading it and may cause peeling and lifted edges. If a car wash uses water spray and no brushes, it should be safe for most wraps.

HOW DO I CLEAN BIRD DROPPINGS, INSECTS, TREE SAP OR OTHER DIFFICULT STAINS?

Clean bird droppings and difficult stains immediately by using a rinseless wash and microfiber towel. Letting bird droppings sit for too long will make them harder to remove and may permanently damage the wrap. For harder to wash stains soak the affected area for a few minutes with warm, soapy (CarPro Reset) water to loosen the contaminants. Rinse completely and dry with a microfiber cloth. Do not use solvents or oil based cleaning products, they will ruin your wrap!

CAN I PRESSURE WASH MY VEHICLE WRAP?

If you want to pressure wash your vehicle keep it below 1200 psi. Use a spray nozzle with a 40 degree wide angle spray pattern. Keep the spray nozzle at least 12 inches away from the car edges.

CAN I PARK MY VEHICLE OUTDOORS FOR LONG PERIODS?

Excessive amounts of time (more than 24 hours) under the sun or other outdoor elements (rain, smog, debris, and road pollutants from passing cars) can degrade the wrap on the roof, trunk lid and hood. These horizontal areas are a magnet for pollutants, which are intensified by UV ray exposure. Try your best to park your car in a garage or under a canopy or shelter. If you must park it outside for prolonged periods, look for shady parking areas. Fortunately your wrap is ceramic coated for maximum protection.

What happens if my wrap becomes damaged?

If your wrap becomes damaged, give me a call or text. I have extra wrap available if a panel needs to be redone due to an accident, scratch, or rock chip. I will do this at a discounted price as it is already stressful enough when your wrap is damaged. I stand behind my work and if it is an install issue I will replace the affected panel wrap at no cost to you.

How long can I expect my wrap to last? 

With proper care you can expect your wrap to last 4-6 years. This is going to vary based on the conditions the vehicle is kept and driven. If the wrap is not maintained it will not last as long. It will last longer if it is parked in a garage rather than outside. Driving more miles means more wear and tear on your wrap from bugs, road debris, and rocks. I have a 2-year old wrap on one of my cars and it still looks as good as the day it was installed.
